The Upside and Downside of Life

Roller Coaster, Majestic

Up one side of the mountain

Then down the next

My face twisted in thoughts of doom,

As I rode the roller coaster,

Majestic.

The struggle of an internal flame

Ripe with every

Dip, swoosh, roar,

and twisting turn,

Erupted.

A silent moan

Cotton candy, pink hot dogs

Rained down,

To the unsuspecting crowd,

Below.

The Dignity of Age

Two women left the doctor's office,

Momentarily separated by the paths taken.

A calm and patient voice urged the other

"Mom, this way."

Dilated pupils made it impossible to see.

A stubborn continence made it difficult to understand.

"Where's the car?"

Came the irritated question.

A will of her own and determined,

She continued her steps from before.

A much louder voice shouted,

"MOM, this way!

And, this time she followed.

It Really is about Love

Is it impossible to love the unlovable?

A child abuser

A brother's drug abuse and denial

A father's abandonment of his family

A mother who rejects her child

A sister who willingly prostitutes herself

Perhaps, a murderer who evades the justice system

Is there anyone more unworthy of love than others?

When we can love the unlovable

The unrepentant

That one despicable human being

No matter the circumstances

No matter the person

That is true love at its best

An unfathomable forgiveness?

Actually, agape love releases our consciousness

To attain our deepest desires

To step into a higher consciousness

To transcend beyond our natural perception of life

Into a new reality of birth-right and purpose

But mostly, and until then, we are each a work in progress.

Good poems. But poems do not make an article.

Thanks for the heads up, Simon. However, I didn't think searchwarp was entirely about articles. Was I mistaken? I do have a few articles that I can submit if that's the case. I do appreciate your comment and will do better with future submissions.

Simon, I believe I now understand your comment. Was it due to my posting it to the incorrect catagory? If so that has been corrected. Thanks, Lorette'

Nice job, the first one seems like I have read it before, I may be mistaken but I think it is in a poem book that I have, that one of my poems were published in. Welcome to SearchWarp

Hi, Amanda. Thank you for your comments. I would be very interested to see the poem that you referenced in your comments. I rarely have read poetry and was pretty much only recently introduced to the style in my writing group. I like the style very much. So, please let me know where I can find the one you're talking about. I would be honored to know that I've gotten that good this quickly after only a month of writing the genre.

Thanks, again, and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Hi Lorette'. Welcome to Searchwarp. Your poems are good and I enjoyed reading them. Looking forward to reading them once published at SW. I write poems and seldom post an article; poems are routinely accepted at Searchwarp, you are at the right place. Best to you. ~Nenita~
